1. Service Description and OCR Disclaimer

The App uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology and Artificial Intelligence to scan receipts and extract data (such as merchant name, date, and total amount). While we strive for high accuracy:

• No Guarantee of Accuracy: We cannot guarantee 100% accuracy of the data extraction due to variables such as image quality, handwriting, or paper condition.
• User Responsibility: It is your sole responsibility to verify that the scanned data matches the original physical receipt before using this data for expense reporting, tax filing, or personal accounting. ReceiptScannr is not responsible for any errors in data entry or extraction.

2. Data Security and Device Integrity

Receipt Scanner stores and processes personal data that you have provided to us, in order to provide our Service. It's your responsibility to keep your phone and access to the App secure. We therefore recommend that you do not jailbreak or root your phone, which is the process of removing software restrictions and limitations imposed by the official operating system of your device. It could make your phone vulnerable to malware/viruses/malicious programs, compromise your phone's security features and it could mean that the App won't work properly or at all.

2.1. User Content License

By uploading receipts or other content to the App, you grant ReceiptScannr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and process such content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service (including OCR processing via third-party providers).

3. Third-Party Services

The App does use third-party services that declare their own Terms and Conditions. By using the App, you acknowledge and agree to the terms of these providers:

• Google Cloud Vision API Terms
• OpenAI Terms of Use
• Cloudflare Terms
• Firebase Terms (including Google Analytics)

4. Connectivity and Charges

Certain functions of the App will require the App to have an active internet connection. The connection can be Wi-Fi or provided by your mobile network provider, but ReceiptScannr cannot take responsibility for the App not working at full functionality if you don't have access to Wi-Fi, and you don't have any of your data allowance left.

If you're using the App outside of an area with Wi-Fi, you should remember that your terms of the agreement with your mobile network provider will still apply. As a result, you may be charged by your mobile provider for the cost of data for the duration of the connection while accessing the App, or other third-party charges. In using the App, you're accepting responsibility for any such charges, including roaming data charges if you use the App outside of your home territory (i.e. region or country) without turning off data roaming.

5. Updates and Service Termination

ReceiptScannr is committed to ensuring that the App is as useful and efficient as possible. For that reason, we reserve the right to make changes to the App or to charge for its services, at any time and for any reason. We will never charge you for the App or its services without making it very clear to you exactly what you're paying for.

Subscriptions and Billing (If Applicable)

If you purchase a recurring subscription, payment will be charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account. Your subscription automatically renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings on the App Store or Google Play after purchase.

At some point, we may wish to update the App. The App is currently available on Android & iOS – the requirements for the systems (and for any additional systems we decide to extend the availability of the App to) may change, and you'll need to download the updates if you want to keep using the App. We may also wish to stop providing the App, and may terminate use of it at any time without giving notice of termination to you.

6. Not Professional Financial or Tax Advice

The Service provided by Receipt Scanner is for information and organization purposes only. It is not intended to provide legal, tax, or financial advice. The App is not a substitute for the advice of a qualified professional (e.g., CPA, tax attorney). You should consult with a professional regarding your specific tax situation. We do not provide any "Audit Protection" or "Tax Filing Guarantees" unless explicitly stated in a separate agreement.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

• General Limitations: ReceiptScannr shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (iii) any content obtained from the Service; and (iv) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content.
• Cap on Liability: In the event of any legal claim or demand arising from the use or inability to use the Service, ReceiptScannr's total aggregate financial liability to you shall in no event exceed the greater of (1) the total subscription/service fees paid by you to us in the twelve (12) month period immediately preceding the date of the claim, or (2) One Hundred United States Dollars (USD $100.00).

8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights. You agree that any legal action or proceeding between you and ReceiptScannr related to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in İstanbul, Turkey.

9. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

We may update our Terms and Conditions from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Terms and Conditions on this page.
